Johor polls: Former state deputy speaker to defend Penggaram seat


BATU PAHAT: Former Johor state meeting deputy speaker Gan Peck Cheng could be defending her Penggaram seat within the upcoming state election.

The announcement was made by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng on the Penggaram Pakatan Harapan workplace in Batu Pahat right here on Saturday (Feb 5).

The incumbent Penggaram assemblyman is the third DAP candidate to formally be named to contest within the state polls by a sequence of bulletins made since Friday (Feb 4).

Earlier, the celebration introduced that incumbent Paloh assemblyman Sheikh Umar Bagharib Ali and incumbent Mengkibol assemblyman Chew Chong Sin could be defending their respective seats.

Meanwhile, Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) has additionally introduced that its incumbent Pulai Sebatang assemblyman Muhammad Taqiuddin Cheman could be contesting the Mahkota seat.

In GE14, Gan received the seat with 26,825 votes towards Kang Beng Kuan of MCA with 9,620 and Misran Samian of PAS with 5,185.
