JPJ to conduct Ops Sedar from Wednesday (Nov 24) to trace down uninsured autos

PUTRAJAYA: The Street Transport Division (JPJ) will conduct Ops Sedar nationwide, beginning on Wednesday (Nov 24), to trace down autos that wouldn’t have insurance coverage protection.

Its director-general Datuk Zailani Hashim in an announcement on Tuesday (Nov 23) mentioned monitoring and enforcement can be executed at roadblocks at chosen areas.

“Street customers who wouldn’t have insurance coverage protection will trigger inconvenience to different automobile homeowners within the occasion of any type of accident.

“Proprietor of autos that wouldn’t have insurance coverage protection may be fined not exceeding RM1,000, and have their driving licence suspended for 12 months,” he mentioned.

Zailani added that JPJ would offer its cell facility for the general public to resume highway tax and driving licences. – Bernama
