The street transport division (JPJ) will suspend or revoke the permits of driving schools if many of their former students are found to have dedicated traffic offences or trigger traffic accidents, stories Bernama.
According to JPJ director-general Datuk Zailani Hashim, the transfer is presently on the strategy planning stage and is predicted to be listed underneath the digital testing (e-testing) system that can be carried out nationwide starting April this year. Once activated, a code can be positioned on the driving licence to detect which driving college the traffic offenders acquired their coaching from.
Zailani elaborated by saying that there have been 10,569 driving instructors in Malaysia who’re licensed in keeping with Rule 11(4) of the Motor Vehicles (Driving Schools) Rules 1992. “However, there is a backlog of 1,779 applications due to restrictions on activities such as courses, seminars and workshops enforced by the government previously,” he mentioned.
Based on statistics from JPJ in addition to the police’s traffic enforcement and investigation division, it was found that 80% of street accidents had been due to human negligence.
