It is normal for idols to receive personal messages from their fans on social media. While many would send messages of support and love, some fans have gone to the extreme of sending explicit and inappropriate texts in an effort to gain attention.

Former Nine Muses member Ryu Sera fell victim to such crude photos and messages online recently and made it a point to speak out against these individuals. Posting a screenshot of a fan’s inappropriate message on her Instagram, Ryu issued a warning against those who have been harassing her.

In the post she wrote: “For the first time since my debut 11 years ago, I’m currently receiving photos of a specific body part and sexual messages. The fact that I’ve received these may mean that every woman in South Korea has received these kinds of messages.”

The 34-year-old stressed that she has become tired of having to block these users. She even attempted to understand why these people would do such deprave things. “They could be someone who really likes underwear, or they could be someone who doesn’t have enough money to buy a single pair of underwear, or they could be someone who has suffered from sexual trauma,” she lamented.

Ending with a stern warning, she said: “Just don’t send (these photos), I’ll find you. Inappropriate pictures and messages are not acceptable.”

Ryu made her debut back in 2010 as a member of girl group Nine Muses, becoming its lead singer. After her contract expired in 2014, she left the group to pursue a solo career.
