LOS ANGELES, March 20 (Xinhua) — Kenyan runners have exhibited their dominance within the 2022 Los Angeles Marathon.
Around 15,000 runners returned to the streets of Los Angeles on Sunday to participate in one of many largest marathons within the United States.
Kenyan athlete John Korir, 25, was the lads’s winner for the second straight 12 months with a time of two hours, 9 minutes and seven seconds, adopted by Kenya’s Edwin Kimutai and Ethiopia’s Berhanu Bekele Berga.
In the ladies’s race, Kenya’s Delvine Meringor, 29, completed first with a time of two:25:03. Kenya’s Antonia Kwambai was second, and Ethiopia’s Biruktayit Degefa completed third.
The thirty seventh version of the occasion began at Dodger Stadium in Downtown Los Angeles, by some iconic neighborhoods in Los Angeles, together with Chinatown and Hollywood, and completed at Avenue of the Stars within the Century City business district.
The annual operating occasion, sometimes held every spring, was again on the regular time of 12 months in 2022 after internet hosting the 2021 version in November. The 2021 Los Angeles Marathon was rescheduled twice as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.
