King, Queen attend Yasin recital in conjunction with birthday celebration

KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah attended a Yasin recital and ‘doa selamat’ in conjunction with His Majesty’s official birthday celebration on June 6.

Also current on the ceremony on Thursday (June 2) held on the Federal Territory Mosque was the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

Their Majesties have been greeted upon arrival at 6.30pm by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Senator Datuk Idris Ahmad.

Also in attendance have been a number of Cabinet ministers, together with Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin, in addition to Federal Territories mufti Datuk Dr Luqman Abdullah.

The ceremony started with the Yasin recital and ‘doa selamat’ led by the Grand Imam of the Federal Territory Mosque Muhyidin Aziz @ Saari, earlier than the Royal Couple, alongside with 2,000 different congregants, carried out the Maghrib prayer.

Their Majesties later exchanged greetings and mingled with the congregants earlier than leaving the occasion at 7.54pm.

The ceremony is a part of occasions lined up in conjunction with the official birthday celebration of Sultan Abdullah, who was put in because the sixteenth Yang di-Pertuan Agong on July 30, 2019.
