KL police: Barbed wire, road barriers will be used in EMCO areas

KUALA LUMPUR: The implementation of the enhanced movement control order (MCO) in 14 localities in Kuala Lumpur will use similar methods of previous areas.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim said police will use barbed wire fences and road barriers at the localities involved.

“We have asked the assistance of the Armed Forces to install the barbed wire fences at the 14 areas.

“The areas under enhanced MCO in Kuala Lumpur are much smaller compared to the ones in Selangor thus we will be able to use barbed wire fences and barriers,” he said when contacted on Friday (July 2).

Ample personnel and officers will also be deployed to ensure no illegal movement of residents in the localities under enhanced MCO, he added.

“Existing roadblocks in the city will be maintained as well,” he said.
