KOTA KINABALU: A graft charge for alleged abuse of power connected to the Labuan port is politically motivated, claims Labuan MP Datuk Rozman Isli.

Rozman, who pleaded not guilty to the charge by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Thursday (Oct 14), claimed that this was the latest attempt to force him to leave Parti Warisan Sabah.

He said this was a politically motivated act to also pressure him into supporting the current government.

He claimed that over the past 20 months as an MP, he had been offered positions and persuaded to switch sides many times.

Rozman claimed he would continue to be pressured to switch allegiance by various means, including facing more court charges, if he refused to follow what was being asked of him.

He said he would, however, stand firm with his decision to stick with the party and face the challenges ahead.

“Berani kerana benar (courage in the truth),” he said.
