CAIRO (Reuters) – The speaker of the eastern-based Libyan parliament, Aguila Saleh, submitted papers on Saturday to face in presidential elections.

The elections, scheduled for Dec. 24, stay unsure amid disputes over the foundations.

“I got here immediately to the headquarters of the Excessive Elections Fee in Benghazi to submit the required paperwork for the nomination to the place of president of the Libyan Republic”, he stated on Libya Votes TV.
