CAIRO (Reuters) – Libya’s parliament speaker Aaguila Saleh stated on Wednesday he would run within the nation’s first direct presidential election on Dec. 24, geared toward ending years of discord over its rightful management.

“Public voting is the one supply of legitimacy for any authority. … (An election) is the one manner out to stop overseas interference, to not divide the nation, to unify establishments and for nationwide reconciliation,” he stated in televised feedback aired solely by Saudi-owned Al Hadath TV.
