KOTA KINABALU: A packed programme has been drawn up along with the city’s 22nd anniversary celebration from now till the tip of March.
The events commemorate Kota Kinabalu reaching city standing 22 years in the past and mark City Hall’s achievements by the years, mentioned mayor Datuk Noorliza Awang Alip.
She mentioned City Hall had, amongst different issues, reworked into a digitalised organisation, improved consciousness of cleanliness amongst city dwellers, adopted anti-corruption pledges, improved effectivity and used a “Love KK” community to instil a sense of appreciation for the city.
“I can’t say we are perfect but we have come a long way and upgraded our services and efficiency,” she mentioned after a flag-raising ceremony on the City Hall compound right here on Wednesday (Feb 2).
Noorliza urged all City Hall employees to try for excellence of their service to the division and the general public, and to uphold the values of a civil servant.
The events lined up for the celebration till March 27 embrace a city corridor session on Feb 9; an revolutionary, environment friendly and efficient service launch on Feb 10; a avenue dance competitors, acoustic battle and soccer event on Feb 12 and 13; and a Love KK programme on Feb 14.
There may even be a scientific expedition from Feb 19 to 23; a cultural rendezvous on Feb 25 and 26; an orchid exhibition from Feb 25 to 27; a KK half marathon; and an e-waste website launch on Feb 27.
From March 5, there might be a conventional meals cook-off, city farming and group composting programme; whereas a climbing expedition at Mount Tambuyukon might be on March 7.
Mayor Cup soccer and badminton tournaments for presidency companies, KK City Ride, leisure fishing as properly as a KK Scavenger Hunt might be held from March 12.
“Participants and those who wish to witness these events are reminded to strictly abide by all SOPs to minimise and curb the spread of Covid-19,” Noorliza mentioned.
