Malaysia attempts to get re-elected for ninth term as IMO Assembly council member

PETALING JAYA: The Transport Ministry has made a bid to the International Maritime Organization Assembly to re-elect Malaysia to a ninth term as a council member below Category C for the approaching biennium.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong mentioned Malaysia launched its normal assertion to handle the thirty second session of the IMO Assembly, held from Dec 6 to 15 this 12 months.

“In my handle as head of delegation, I made our bid to the meeting to re-elect Malaysia to a ninth term as Council Member below Category C for the approaching biennium.

“In the midst of recovering from the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, Malaysia reaffirmed its dedication to the IMO to enhance human capital, improve ladies’s participation within the maritime business and pursue inexperienced initiatives,” he mentioned on his Facebook account on Tuesday (Dec 7).
