JOHOR BARU: The implementation of the Vaccinated Travel Lane by sea (VTL-Sea) could be introduced up for dialogue on the Malaysia-Singapore Joint Ministerial Committee (JMC) assembly as early as January.

Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad stated the VTL-Sea was recommended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a latest assembly together with his Singapore counterpart Lee Hsien Loong.

“PM Lee responded that it could be considered.

“If both countries are agreeable, maybe a joint task force (could be formed) to discuss this immediately.

“The special travel lane will definitely improve the local tourism sector,” he informed a press convention after launching the Iskandar Perantis Programme at Educity Sports Complex in Iskandar Puteri right here on Monday (Dec 6).

Hasni stated the recommended VTL-Sea route would be between Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal and Singapore’s Tanah Merah.

Both prime ministers and different authorities ministers met throughout Ismail Sabri’s official go to to Singapore along with the graduation of the air and land VTL between the 2 nations on Nov 29.
