IPOH: The police have arrested a man for allegedly defacing the wall of a building in Taiping with graffiti.
Taiping OCPD Asst Comm Osman Mamat said Mohd Fadhli Mohd Mustafa will be brought to Taiping court to apply for remand on Monday (May 24)
“During our investigation, we seized a writing-block with words critical of the government, a tin of black spray and a car allegedly used for graffiti-writing.
The suspect was arrested at a house in Taman Sungai Mas, Taiping,” he said.
On May 23, Twitter user @khalidismath said that Mohd Fadhli was arrested over writing graffiti on buildings that criticised the government.
The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief by causing damage to government property.
If found guilty, an offender can face a maximum jail term of five years, a fine or both upon conviction.
