BUTTERWORTH: An unidentified man was killed in an accident at a toll plaza here.
The Fire and Rescue Department said the man was found trapped in his car and was confirmed dead at the scene by the Health Department officers.
“We received a distress call at around 1pm on Sunday (Aug 15).
“When the Fire and Rescue team arrived at the scene, there was a road accident involving a multi-purpose vehicle at a toll plaza at KM 6.5 of the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway heading towards Butterworth,” said the department in a statement on Sunday.
Firefighters dressed in full personal protective equipment removed the trapped victim using rescue tools at around 2.45pm.
“The operation was completed at around 2.30pm and the case was taken over by the police,” the department said.
