Melaka polls: Stroke affected person spends about RM200 on non-public ambulance to polling centre

ALOR GAJAH: A 57-year-old stroke affected person was prepared to pay tons of of ringgit to rent a personal ambulance in order that he may solid his vote within the Melaka state election.

Abdul Rahim Yaacob spent about RM200 to pay for the companies of a personal ambulance to solid his vote within the Lendu constituency and arrived at SK Durian Daun (Okay) at about 8.15am on Saturday (Nov 20).

He was assisted by Election Fee (EC) employees and healthcare staff to get off the ambulance for the voting course of on the polling centre.

“If we lose one vote, we lose. This accountability for the sake of the nation should be fulfilled. So I’m desirous to vote although I am not wholesome and it is troublesome to stroll,” he mentioned as quoted by Sinar Harian.

“I got here from a home, not a hospital, so I could not use the federal government ambulance. I needed to spend about RM200 to go and return residence,” added the resident of Kampung Durian Daun when talking to reporters.

There are a complete of 10,561 registered voters for the Lendu state seat, which noticed a 3 -cornered battle between Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali (Barisan Nasional), Main (B) Abdullah Mahadi (Perikatan Nasional) and Mohamad Asri Ibrahim (Pakatan Harapan).
