SEOUL (Reuters) -Two plane of South Korea’s air drive collided in mid-air on Friday throughout a coaching train, killing three pilots, with a fourth lacking within the uncommon incident, authorities stated.
More than 30 firefighters and rescuers have begun a search on the crash website, the Yonhap information company stated, citing fireplace officers.
The crash occurred about 6 km (3.7 miles) south of the KT-1 airplanes’ base within the southeastern metropolis of Sacheon, at about 1:37 p.m.(0437 GMT), the air drive stated.
“Despite their makes an attempt at an emergency escape, three pilots died and one stays lacking,” it stated in an announcement, including that it had fashioned a crew to find out the trigger of the accident and injury.
The KT-1 is a single-engine primary trainer and light-weight assault plane collectively constructed by the state-run Agency for Defense Development and a contractor, Korea Aerospace Industries.
