PETALING JAYA: The current operating approval letter from the International Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti) remains valid throughout the current lockdown’s extension, says the Ministry.

This means all businesses which hold the CIMS 3.0 operating approval letter from Miti applied from June 1 onwards need not renew their letters to be able to operate between June 15 and June 28.

In a statement issued on Saturday (June 12), Miti stated that in line with the announcement by the National Security Council (NSC) that the lockdown will be extended for another two weeks, the operating approval letters are valid.

“Miti wishes to inform that the letter of approval which was earlier obtained by companies via the Covid-19 Intelligent Management System (CIMS) beginning June 1, 2021, will be valid throughout the extension of the lockdown period from Tuesday (June 15) to Monday (June 28),” said Miti.

The NSC had made it compulsory for all essential businesses and its chain of supporting industries to have the CIMS 3.0 operating approval letter from the one-stop centre manned by Miti, with the approval by the relevant ministries.

Yesterday (June 11), Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the NSC had decided to extend the lockdown for another two weeks as the Covid-19 cases are still high and the infection curve has yet to be flattened.
