Goh stated that primarily based on Tourism Malaysia information, India stays one of many high tourism sources for Malaysia and has contributed 735,309 arrivals, which is a rise of twenty-two% in 2019 earlier than journey restrictions emerged due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

He stated because the reopening of the worldwide border on April 1, Indian vacationers proceed to high the arrival pattern to Malaysia.

Gan added that his mission is to introduce Melaka as a vacation spot for conferences, conferences, wellness and leisure to the Indians.

He stated many Indians weren’t conscious of Melaka as a high vacation vacation spot.

“Melaka should have been the top on the tourism list as a popular destination and it status a Unesco world heritage city but unfortunately, many who turned up at the roadshow asked whether the city (Melaka) is among a holiday destination in Malaysia,” he stated in a phone interview on Thursday (April 28) after the roadshow at Bangalore organised by Tourism Malaysia.

He stated the roadshow kicked off in New Delhi on April 18, adopted by Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and the ultimate one in Chennai on Friday (April 30).
