KOTA KINABALU: A 28-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an accident alongside Jalan Merotai/Bombalai in Tawau on Tuesday (July 5).

Tawau district police chief Asst Comm Jasmin Hussin mentioned the accident concerned two different automobiles.

In a press release on Wednesday (July 6), he mentioned the 8.20am accident concerned a automotive from Felda Umas heading in the direction of Bombalai, a four-wheel drive (4WD) pushed by a 53-year-old man and the sufferer’s bike, each coming from Tawau in the course of Merotai.

He mentioned the accident occurred when the sufferer tried to overhaul the 4WD, solely to hit its rear finish and skid into the alternative lane.

According to ACP Jasmin, the 29-year-old motorist in the oncoming lane couldn’t keep away from hitting the motorcyclist, who was dragged for 25m after the impression.

“The sufferer died on the scene,” ACP Jasmin mentioned, including that the 2 motorists had been unharmed.

Investigation of the case is being carried out below Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for inflicting loss of life by reckless or harmful driving, he added.
