PETALING JAYA: It is unfair responsible Umno for Muafakat Nasional (MN) being “on its last legs” because it was PAS’ refusal to cooperate that led to this case, says Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
The Umno deputy president stated this occurred after its MN accomplice determined to go together with Perikatan Nasional (PN) in November’s Melaka state election.

“PAS refused to cooperate with Umno… after being asked to contest using its own logo and not under PN’s banner,” Mohamad, who is popularly known as Tok Mat, was quoted as saying by Utusan Malaysia.
“The truth is, we (Umno) never ditched them (PAS).
“They are the ones who broke ties with MN and were inconsistent.
“They say we betrayed Muafakat but they are the ones who contested under PN’s banner.
“This is why when people ask me about MN, I say the alliance has little chance of surviving,” he added.
Mohamad added that Umno was not upset with PAS’ determination to hitch PN however Umno ought to not be blamed for the destiny of the coalition.
“That (going with PN) is their right and their choice. But that is the reason MN is failing,” he stated.
Last month, PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man stated MN was clearly nonetheless alive and not completed, as claimed by a number of quarters.
Mohamad stated Umno wanted to stay agency when correcting the notion of those that noticed it as the explanation for MN’s troubles.
