New Miros chairman Wong Shaw Voon no stranger to transportation, engineering industry, says Dr Wee


PETALING JAYA: Dr Wong Shaw Voon has been appointed as the brand new chairman of the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (Miros) efficient Saturday (Feb 5).

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong congratulated Wong and welcomed him to the publish on a Facebook publish on Saturday (Feb 5).

“I’m assured that Wong’s huge expertise in highway questions of safety will serve Miros nicely for the great of the group and nation.

“Wong is no stranger to the transportation and engineering trade of Malaysia as the previous director-general and board member of Miros.

“He had additionally served within the ministry’s Special Investigation Committee that investigated and produced the report on the LRT collision in May final 12 months,” Dr Wee stated.

Dr Wee added that Wong is a Fellow of the Asean Academy of Engineering & Technology and a marketing consultant to the United Nations on the UN Road Safety Fund.

Wong holds first-class honours in Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and System Engineering and was the primary in his class at Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Subsequently, Wong earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Dublin City University in Ireland.

Dr Wee additionally expressed his honest gratitude on behalf of the federal government in the direction of outgoing chairman Datuk Suret Singh, who had helmed Miros since Feb 2019.
