Nigeria’s Sokoto state declares curfew over student killing protests


KANO, Nigeria (Reuters) – Nigeria’s Sokoto state has declared a right away 24-hour curfew to quell protests demanding the discharge of suspects within the killing of Deborah Samuel final week, a press release from the governor’s workplace stated.

Samuel was crushed and burned by fellow college students for alleged blasphemous statements concerning the Prophet Mohammad in a Whatsapp group.
