No such thing as work from home pay cuts, says Saravanan


TAPAH: The nationwide wage coverage doesn’t permit cuts in wage or allowances for workers working from home (WFH), says Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan.

He stated such a pay minimize can’t be allowed and mustn’t occur.

“There aren’t any obstacles (on this matter), employers can ask them (staff) to return into the workplace. No social gathering can work from home with out the consent of the employer.

“If an employer permits it, then they need to not minimize their salaries. If the employer doesn’t agree with the worker working from home, they will ask the worker to return to workplace,” he stated after attending a breaking of quick ceremony right here.

He was commenting on a information report during which the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) urged that these selecting to work from home needs to be given smaller salaries, together with a deduction in journey allowance.

Its govt director Shamsuddin Bardan claimed that some staff agreed with the transfer as working from home would save journey prices, the report stated. – Bernama
