Opposition MPs hold separate meeting to discuss Constitutional amendments

PETALING JAYA: Opposition MPs held a separate meeting in preparation for the particular Dewan Rakyat sitting to desk amendments to the Federal Constitution to pave the best way for the anti-hopping Bill to be tabled this July.

Transformation and Political Stability Steering Committee co-chairman Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail confirmed the meeting was held across the similar time a briefing was held for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on the matter.

Earlier, Attorney General Tan Sri Idrus Harun briefed Ismail Sabri together with MPs and Senators on the proposed amendments to Article 10 of the Federal Constitution in Putrajaya at about 4.30pm on Sunday.

However, Pakatan held a separate briefing at a resort in Putrajaya at about the identical time, giving rise to hypothesis that it was a snub by the Opposition.

A Pakatan MP, who didn’t want to be named, denied it was a snub.
