(Reuters) – Russia’s international ministry mentioned on Wednesday that detained U.S. basketball player Brittney Griner may enchantment her sentence or apply for clemency as soon as a verdict has been delivered.
Russian international ministry spokesperson Alexei Zaitsev mentioned: “makes an attempt to current the case as if the American lady was illegally detained don’t stand as much as criticism.”
Griner was arrested at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport on Feb. 17 on medicine prices, after cannabis-infused vaporiser cartridges have been allegedly present in her baggage. In May, the U.S. State Department designated Griner as “wrongfully detained”.
