PETALING JAYA: The Health Ministry has agreed to increase the contracts of assistant medical officers whose time period of appointment expired on Wednesday (Feb 2), says Datuk Mohd Shafiq Abdullah.

Its secretary-general mentioned the Public Services Commission of Malaysia (SPA) on Jan 26 and Jan 28 have agreed to increase the contract of 1,243 Grade U29 assistant medical officers from among the many Health Ministry Training Institute graduates whose contract will expire on Feb 2.

“The notification on the contract extension has been knowledgeable to the related head of departments,” mentioned Mohd Shafiq in an announcement posted on the ministry’s Facebook web page on Thursday (Feb 3).
