KOTA KINABALU: Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) youth members want Barisan Nasional to stand solo in the fifteenth General Election (GE15).

Its youth exco chief Edwin Laimin stated 99% of division leaders and grassroot supporters agreed to the proposal, including a lot of them considered the cooperation between Barisan and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) as a type of betrayal. PBRS is a part of Barisan.

“We fully support the suggestion by party president (Tan Sri Joseph Kurup) for Barisan to go into GE15 on its own,” he stated.

Laimin stated if Barisan continued to work with GRS, it could make it troublesome for Barisan and PBRS to get extra seats to contest in GE15.

“This is due to the seat sharing formula, which also means that PBRS will not get as many seats. For now, PBRS has only one parliamentary seat (Pensiangan),” he stated, including that the coalition would solely profit Perikatan Nasional and never Barisan.

Recently, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin stated GRS’ victory could possibly be translated as a win for Bersatu as a result of the coalition is a part of Perikatan.
