KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has confirmed that one among its junior degree executives has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for suspected graft.
The nationwide oil firm stated it was dedicated to totally cooperate with the MACC in its investigations, and it staunchly condemned all types of misconduct amongst its staff.
“To this finish, Petronas has been working carefully with the MACC since 2012 and can proceed this collaboration to stamp out corruption throughout the group.
“The group has zero tolerance towards corruption and can proceed to leverage its inside mechanisms to stop corrupt behaviour,” it added in an announcement on Saturday (April 9).
Petronas stated its code of conduct and enterprise ethics expressly prohibits improper solicitation, bribery and different misconduct by staff, administrators and third events performing work or providers for or on behalf of the businesses within the group.- Bernama
