SHAH ALAM: The level of compliance to the Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) during the lockdown among the people in the district here has been satisfactory, says Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Baharudin Mat Taib.

“We only issued 18 compounds on Monday (June 7).

“The compounds were not issued at roadblocks. Instead, it was more for offences committed at premises and restaurants where the workers did not wear face masks and did not scan the MySejahtera application,” he told reporters after inspecting SOP compliance at the Shah Alam and Padang Jawa KTM commuter stations on Tuesday (June 8).

The commuters only have about 5% to 10% passenger capacity compared to the capacity prior to the lockdown, he added.

“There are some carriages with no passengers at all, while others have maybe one or two passengers.

“It shows that the people are heeding the call to stay at home during the lockdown,” he added.

He also said Shah Alam police have deployed two teams to monitor SOP compliance in public transportation.

“We are doing random checks at peak hours when the people are going to work and going back home.”

He also reminded the public to adhere to the SOP, as the ultimate goal is to break the chain of Covid-19 infections.
