IPOH: A police report on an allegation to buy Ipoh Barat MP M. Kulasegaran’s support for Perikatan Nasional has been referred to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the police report, which was made by the DAP lawmaker’s private secretary Jeremy Chuah on Saturday (Aug 7), has been passed on to MACC for further action.

Comm Mior Faridalathrash said the report stated that he (Chuah) received the messages via two different mobile numbers on Aug 6.

He said two other police reports on the matter had also been lodged in Kedah and Penang.

“The police are advising the public not to speculate regarding the case, as the matter is still being investigated by MACC.

“Please refrain from making any statements as this can disturb the current ongoing investigations,” he said.

On Saturday (Aug 7), Chuah lodged a police report at the central police station here.

Chuah claimed he received WhatsApp messages offering incentives to the MP in exchange for support towards Perikatan.

“The content in both the messages were offers made to Kulasegaran for ministerial position, money, full allocation for his constituency, and other incentives,” he added.
