Road renamed to honour first director of UiTM


SHAH ALAM: Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has decreed that the Persiaran Institut street in Seksyen 1, Shah Alam, be renamed Persiaran Tun Arshad Ayub, in honour of the late notable educationist.

The Sultan of Selangor stated the decree is in recognition of the providers and contributions of the primary director of Mara Institute of Technology (ITM), now often known as Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Bernama reported.

The Istana Alam Shah, in a publish on the Selangor Royal Office Facebook web page yesterday, stated the Sultan’s order shall be enforced instantly by the Selangor authorities, by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA).

“The name change covers a 1.62km stretch that starts from Bulatan Bistari Seksyen 2 (in front of the main entrance of UiTM) to the traffic light intersection (near Universiti Selangor) in Seksyen 7, Shah Alam,” learn the assertion.

It stated the change of title is to commemorate the service of Arshad, a revered and revered nationwide schooling determine who had contributed a lot to strengthening the upper schooling system within the nation, particularly within the growth of UiTM.

Arshad died on June 14 on the age of 93.
