BAGHDAD (Reuters) -A Katyusha rocket hit an Iraqi military base internet hosting U.S. forces near Baghdad’s worldwide airport on Wednesday, Iraqi safety and military sources mentioned.
An Iraqi military assertion mentioned it discovered a rocket launcher with one rocket in al-Jihad district in western Baghdad near the airport.
The sources mentioned that no person was damage within the incident.
U.S. officers have warned in current weeks they anticipated an uptick in assaults towards U.S. forces in Iraq and Syria, partly due to the second anniversary of the killing of high Iranian common Qassem Soleimani.
While there have been no instant claims of accountability for current assaults, Iraqi militia teams aligned with Iran vowed to retaliate for killing Soleimani and Iraqi militia commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
Wednesday’s assault is the second this week concentrating on the base near Baghdad’s worldwide airport after an assault by two drones was foiled on Monday.
