KOTA KINABALU: Sabah DAP isn’t letting up on its criticism of Parti Warisan with its state youth chief taking a swipe at their former ally’s claim of being the “true Opposition party”.
Sabah DAP Youth chief Chan Loong Wei said that Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal (and other Warisan MPs), had failed in their basic task as elected representatives to attend Parliament sittings but had labelled themselves as the “true Opposition party”.
“Warisan president Shafie’s attendance is worse than Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s 24 days’ attendance despite Tun being hospitalised a few times,” he mentioned.
Chan referred to the MyMP web site – which he mentioned confirmed Parliament attendance information – and mentioned that Warisan’s seven MPs had a whole attendance document of 51.6%, which was decrease than Barisan Nasional’s 42 MPs with a whole attendance of 52.2%.
“This is embarrassing to a party that claims themselves to be the ‘real’ Opposition,” Chan mentioned, including that DAP’s secretary-general Anthony Loke had a full Parliament attendance document.
“How is Warisan the only ‘true’ Opposition party as claimed by Datuk Azis Jamman and Datuk Junz Wong if their MPs cannot even attend sittings?

DAP and Warisan have been within the Warisan-Pakatan Harapan coalition which fashioned the state administration from 2018 to 2020.

Sabah DAP has denied this and maintains that they have been critical on various issues not in the interest of the people.
Chan said that Sabah DAP is questioning the motive for Warisan’s recent spate of attacks on DAP.
“Why is Warisan so obsessed and relentlessly attacking DAP over the MOU – as if DAP is Warisan’s main enemy despite Loke calling for cooperation?
“Is Loke wrong for uniting the Opposition forces?” he requested.
