Sarawak passes Supplementary Supply Bill for extra RM60mil spending

KUCHING: The Sarawak Legislative Assembly has handed the Supplementary Supply (2022) Bill for extra expenditure amounting to RM60mil.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, who tabled the Bill on Friday (May 20), mentioned the expenditure was meant to fulfill extra working grants to 23 native authorities within the state for reductions on evaluation charges and licence waivers.

The quantity included RM18.2mil for a 25% low cost on evaluation charges for residential properties with annual charges above RM400, industrial, industrial and particular function holdings and vacant land for January to June this yr.

It additionally coated reductions of 30% to 100% on evaluation charges for residential holdings with annual charges beneath RM400, totalling RM23.5mil for 2020 and RM12.2mil for January to June this yr.

Uggah mentioned the extra expenditure additionally included RM5.7mil for waiver of enterprise permits and licences belonging to native authorities and RM213,659 for waiver of resort and lodging home licences for this yr.

An extra RM201,080 was allotted for a 50% low cost for rental of bus terminals belonging to native authorities for this yr.
