Sarawak to proceed with state-funded mega projects, says Abang Jo

KUCHING: Sarawak won’t delay the implementation of state-funded mega initiatives, says Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He stated Sarawak had sufficient income to proceed with implementing the initiatives.

“I have no idea about Federal-funded initiatives however the state-funded initiatives will go on,” he informed reporters after launching Sarawak’s International Day of Forests celebration right here on Tuesday (June 28).

Abang Johari was requested on studies that the Federal Government could take into account placing mega initiatives on maintain in gentle of the projected subsidy price of RM77.3bil this 12 months.

Minister within the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed stated on Monday (June 27) that the federal government had not made a closing resolution on suspending the implementation of mega initiatives to save prices.

However, he stated the federal government wanted to look into cost-saving measures to be certain that its monetary place remained sturdy.
