School aid programme to start distributing RM150 to pupils, students from low income households on Jan 17

PETALING JAYA: The distribution of the Early School Aid (ESA) programme will start from Jan 17 onwards.

The Education Ministry mentioned this may contain pupils who could be coming into Year Two within the coming 2022/2023 college 12 months, up until Form Five students.

“The aid will probably be distributed to pupils who will probably be coming into Year One within the 2022/2023 tutorial 12 months after their college registration course of is accomplished.

“Those in Year One till Form Four within the present 2021/2022 tutorial 12 months who’re from households with an income of RM3,000 and fewer will probably be eligible to obtain the aid,” the ministry mentioned in a press release on Friday (Jan 13).

As a part of Budget 2022, Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz mentioned a complete of RM450mil had been allotted for the ESA programme for a complete of three million students, and every pupil would obtain RM150.

“This will profit some three million students from households with an income of RM3,000 and beneath.
