Search for missing people in several parts of Sabah continues

KOTA KINABALU: Rescue personnel in Sabah are nonetheless looking for several people who had gone missing in addition to retrieving our bodies following varied mishaps over the previous few days.

In the primary case, an 18-year-old boy was discovered useless in a pond close to Jalan Jalil Alip Batu 13, Sandakan, a day after he was reported missing on Tuesday (Jan 4).

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department operations chief Misran Bisara stated the sufferer has been recognized as Anas Ibrahim Abdullah, who was reported missing at about 8.26pm when he didn’t return residence after going to his farm in the jungle.

“We were told that he went to the farm with some friends for some leisure activities but was reported missing from the group,” stated Misran.

“Anas’ body was found in the pond at around 8.30am on Wednesday (Jan 5) and was handed over to the police for further action,” he added when contacted.

In Ranau, the search is on for a 65-year-old farmer who didn’t return residence from a searching journey since Jan 1.

Misran stated Moijin Gamiyan had gone into jungle not removed from his home at Kg Tinanom to arrange some animal traps earlier than his household reported him missing on Jan 4.

He then added that in Kuala Penyu, the search for a missing fisherman entered its third day on Wednesday (Jan 5).

Mohammad Sharijan Sani, 39, had gone missing when fishing at sea off Kg Lambidan on Monday (Jan 3).
