IPOH: A downpour has induced flash floods in a number of areas right here.
Due to the continual rain and heavy winds since 6pm that lasted till 9pm, the water stage at a number of housing areas has risen to waist excessive.
Among the affected areas have been Taman Kinta Emas, Kg Tasek, Taman Desa Impian, Persiaran Tasek Timur, Taman Seri Gaya, Kg Sg Rokam, Kg Baru, Pekeliling Ampang Baru, Jalan Ampang Baru 2, Taman Mewah Flats and Taman Cempaka.
Rescue groups from the police, Fire and Rescue Department, and Rela have been on the bottom for rescue and monitoring functions.
At press time, the rescue group was nonetheless finishing up evacuation, and bringing affected residents to security.
