Soccer: Soccer-Nahas named head coach of NWSL’s Braveness

(Reuters) – The North Carolina Braveness have named Sean Nahas as head coach, the Nationwide Ladies’s Soccer League (NWSL) group stated on Wednesday.

The Braveness terminated the contract of former coach Paul Riley, who led them to back-to-back NWSL championships in 2018 and 2019, in September after an Athletic report outlined allegations of sexual coercion and misconduct.

Nahas, who has been with the group since 2017, took over as interim coach in September.

“Sean is a player-first chief who aligns with our imaginative and prescient of offering the easiest assets for our gamers to enhance and attain their highest potential,” Braveness proprietor Steve Malik stated.

Group captain Abby Erceg stated Nahas had been a wonderful sounding board for the gamers.

“It’s thrilling for us to have the chance to totally faucet into his data and have him drive us ahead,” the New Zealand worldwide stated.
