Son marries his father’s ex-wife by mistake


A Saudi Arabian is claimed to have been ordered to divorce his spouse regardless of having been married for six years and having a baby together with her. According to Saudi media stories, Abdullah al-Mutlak, a Saudi royal adviser and member of the Council of Senior Scholars, introduced a Fatwa on the case of a person who unknowingly married his father’s ex-wife.

Al-Mutlaka’s fatwa demanded that the person should divorce his spouse, emphasising that whereas his son’s start was authorized, the wedding isn’t.

The story started years in the past when the person fell in love with and married the girl beneath a ‘misyar’ contract. However, he didn’t disclose his marriage to his household.

Six years later, he determined to inform his household about it. He introduced her into the household home to introduce to his mother and father.

Upon seeing his son’s new spouse, the person’s father stunned everybody by revealing that he himself had married the identical lady 10 years prior beneath the same ‘misyar’ contract.

A ‘misyar’ marriage is a kind of marriage contract in Sunni Islam wherein a lady relinquishes a number of the rights she would have in a standard Islamic marriage. This usually occurs, for instance, when there are lots of girls who discover it more and more troublesome to marry as they age.

In this case, the girl chooses a husband who’s unable to steer a standard marriage, akin to offering monetary assist or spending sufficient time with them, they imagine it’s higher to marry him than to be single.

In Islam, ex-wives should not allowed to marry their former husbands sons and grandsons, which led to the ruling for the person to divorce his spouse.
