Stay where you are, says Harden
KUCHING: Stay put during the coming festive seasons, said Community Wellbeing Assistant Minister Datuk Francis Harden Hollis.
He urged urban dwellers not to travel to the rural areas for Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Gawai Dayak; instead they must limit their movements to wherever they live or stay.
“Those who stay in urban areas, just stay there. Those who are in villages, stay there. This is a way of curbing the spread of Covid-19.
“We should adhere to the conditional movement control order (CMCO) and adapt to the ‘new normal’ in order to put an end to Covid-19,” he told reporters yesterday.
Last Wednesday Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the federal government allowed visits on the first day of the festive season, but limited to twenty people at one time.
He also reminded that while visiting, other standard operating procedures (SOPs) have to be observed, such as using hand sanitisers, washing hands with soap and using face masks.
