Suspect remanded a week over couple’s murder in Bercham

IPOH: The 61-year-old suspect who murdered his brother and his spouse at a home in Bercham close to right here has been remanded for a week.

The accused, carrying a gray T-shirt and pants, was introduced into the Magistrate’s Court right here about 9am.

Magistrate Jeseca Daimis issued a remand order till July 14 to permit police to hold out investigations underneath Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Police arrested the suspect in Genting Highlands, the place an axe, believed to be murder weapon, was additionally found.

The arrest was made at about 7.45pm on Thursday (July 7).

Yesterday, a report was lodged by the male sufferer’s eldest brother, who discovered the 2 victims lined with blood in the lounge of their home in Taman Bercham Aman.

Police believed the murders occurred on Wednesday (July 6) evening.

The victims have been recognized as 64-year-old Ng Chun Hon and his spouse, Ooi Tin Lu, 59.
