JOHOR BARU: Tens of thousands of vehicles are anticipated to enter Johor from Singapore daily during the upcoming holiday season, says Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat.

“Maybe half of them came in with their own vehicles, making it an estimated 35,000 vehicles coming in daily.

“Police will work with the related enforcement agencies such as city councils and deploy personnel to 30 traffic congestion hotspots and 41 accident spots in Johor to monitor the traffic situation and ensure smooth traffic flow,” he stated in a press convention on the Skudai toll plaza right here on Thursday (April 28).
Comm Kamarul Zaman earlier launched the Op Selamat programme, which begins on April 29 till May 8, to fight break-ins and minimise visitors accidents along with the Labour Day and Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
Labour Day falls on Sunday (May 1), with the substitute holiday on Monday whereas Hari Raya is anticipated to fall on Tuesday (May 3).
He added Johor sees a median of about 200 visitors accidents with a dying toll of two instances a day.
