PETALING JAYA: Three Kajang MRT Line stations, namely Kwasa Damansara, Kampung Selamat and Sungai Buloh, will be temporarily closed from Saturday (Oct 9) to facilitate final migration work to Phase One of the Putrajaya MRT Line.

The closures will continue until the launch of Phase One of the new Putrajaya MRT Line in November.

However, the Sungai Buloh KTM station as well as the Park-and-Ride facilities next to the Sungai Buloh MRT station will remain open.

The closures are to enable the section of the Kajang MRT Line between the Kwasa Damansara and Sungai Buloh stations to be migrated or transferred to form part of the new Putrajaya MRT Line.

The Kajang MRT Line service will terminate at Kwasa Damansara Sentral station during the closures.

However, a free shuttle bus service (open during MRT operating hours) will be provided to ferry MRT passengers between the Kwasa Sentral, Kampung Selamat and Sungai Buloh stations.

The Kajang MRT Line trains will operate as usual between Kajang and Kwasa Sentral stations.

MRT Corp Putrajaya Line project director Datuk Amiruddin Ma’aris said on Wednesday (Oct 6) the temporary station closures were necessary to enable the final migration of essential operational systems such as communication and signalling in this section of the Kajang MRT Line to the soon-to-be-opened Putrajaya MRT Line.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused to MRT users. These are works which will result in an improvement to the Klang Valley urban rail network with the opening of nine new stations under Phase One of the Putrajaya MRT Line,” he told a press conference.
