NEW DELHI (Reuters) – Toyota Motor Corp and Suzuki Motor Corp mentioned on Friday they may start manufacturing in August of their first hybrid vehicle in India, as a part of a partnership shaped by the 2 Japanese carmakers in 2017.
The hybrid sport utility vehicle (SUV), developed by Suzuki, shall be manufactured at Toyota’s native plant in southern India. The SUV shall be bought in India and exported to markets together with Africa, the businesses mentioned in a press release.
The powertrains of the SUV shall be geared up with delicate hybrid developed by Suzuki and robust hybrid developed by Toyota.
