KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic congestion has begun in Bangsar forward of the #TangkapAzamBaki demonstration.
Checks on the scene confirmed that site visitors was already congested alongside roads resulting in Jalan Bangsar right here on Saturday (Jan 22) morning.
As of 9.30am, Jalan Pantai Baru and the New Pantai Expressway exit into Jalan Bangsar are already congested as police have diverted site visitors alongside 5 roads right here.
The roads closed are Jalan Bangsar, the flip off into Jalan Bangsar Utama, Jalan Travers, heading in the direction of Jalan Bangsar, Jalan Rakyat, heading in the direction of Jalan Bangsar and Jalan Maarof, heading in the direction of Jalan Bangsar.
Besides the street diversions, the operations of the MRT, LRT, Monorail and KTM – together with the Bangsar LRT station – can be quickly closed from 7am till the tip of the rally.
Meanwhile in Kuala Lumpur, site visitors was congested close to the Bulatan Dato Onn heading in the direction of Bank Negara, Jalan Sultan Ismail close to the Sime Darby Building, Jalan Kinabalu, Jalan Kuching in addition to on Jalan Tun Razak close to the US Embassy.
The planned demonstration at 11am at present is to demand motion towards Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.
