PETALING JAYA: Seven motorists have been issued compound notices for movement control order violations during a traffic police operation along the Kesas Highway that also hauled in traffic offenders and three suspected drug abusers.

Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department principal assistant director (enforcement) Supt Dr Bakri Zainal Abidin said the operation was conducted by 15 policemen and eight National Anti-Drug Agency personnel.

“We set up a roadblock after the Sunway toll plaza along the Kesas Highway at around 10am on Thursday (July 8).

“The operation was conducted to identify traffic offenders and motorists who were driving under the influence of drugs,” he said when contacted.

He said they issued 50 summonses for various offences during the two-hour operation.

“We also issued compound notices to seven individuals for flouting the MCO.

“Three men were also arrested after they tested positive for methamphetamine,” he said, adding that the drug agency would take further action against the suspects.
