Twitter expands feature allowing users to flag misleading tweets


(Reuters) – Twitter Inc mentioned on Monday it’ll develop its check feature which permits users to flag misleading content material on its social media platform to Brazil, Spain and the Philippines.

The firm had launched the pilot check of the feature in August final yr, as part of its effort to cut back misinformation on its platform.

It was first examined within the United States, Australia and South Korea.

Since it was first introduced, Twitter mentioned it has acquired round 3 million experiences from users who’ve used it to flag tweets which they imagine are in violation of its insurance policies.

The social media big final yr launched one other program referred to as Birdwatch, which lets members write notes and supply extra context to misleading tweets, although these notes are held on a separate web site.
