Two arrested, drugs worth over RM300,000 seized in KL raids

KUALA LUMPUR: Two people were arrested and some RM333,000 worth of drugs were seized following two raids in the city.

Kuala Lumpur Narcotic Crime Investigation Department (NCID) deputy chief Supt Mohd Shokri Abdullah said a 35-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were detained during Wednesday’s (June 16) raids.

The suspects were detained at a parking lot in Jalan Metro Pudu while they were in a car at about 3.50pm.

“We seized 461g of MDMA and 1.8l of MDMA liquid from the car along with RM650 cash,” he said when contacted on Thursday (June 17).

Further investigation led police to a residence in Taman Mastiara here on the same day, he added.

“We seized an array of drugs including 5.19kg ketamine, 328g MDMA powder, 11.25l of MDMA liquid and 54 ecstasy pills.

“The drugs are worth RM333,883,” he said, adding that the residence was rented for about four months at RM1,800 per month.

Supt Mohd Shokri said the suspects have been remanded until June 23.

The drugs seized could have been supplied to 6,124 addicts, he added.
